Boston Church Parenting Workshop
Content: God presents through His Word a style of parenting that science has shown to lead to positive outcomes in children and adolescents. This style of parenting appears to be exactly what is needed from an adolescent brain development standpoint. This workshop will take a deeper dive into Scriptures on parenting, what science has revealed about developmental outcomes related to parenting styles, and adolescent brain development.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Ryan Erbe
Dr. Ryan Erbe oversees the Cadet Character Education Program at the United States Military Academy at West Point and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership. He teaches and conducts research on character development, well-being, emotion regulation and meditation. Ryan earned his PhD in Health Behavior and Child and Adolescent Development from Indiana University and is also an Adjunct Professor at the Rocky Mountain School of Ministry and Theology where he teaches Christian Adolescence Counseling. Ryan and his wife Katie have four children, Evelyn (9), Vivian (7), Lilian (5), and William (2).
