What is Kairos?
Kairos (KYE-ross), or καιρός, is an ancient Greek word meaning “the right or critical moment.” In classical literature, it described decisive opportunities, such as releasing an arrow at the exact instant it would strike true. In the New Testament, kairos takes on deeper meaning: not simply time passing (chronos), but God-appointed seasons when His purposes break through. Jesus proclaims the kairos of the Kingdom has come in Mark 1:15, and Paul urges believers in Ephesians 5:16 to “make the most of every opportunity,” (redeem the kairos). To recognize kairos is to discern God’s timing and respond with faith.
We believe such a moment has arrived for the Boston Church. God has opened a window of opportunity for us to strengthen our ministries, raise up new leaders, and create a lasting spiritual impact in our communities and beyond. The Kairos Fund is our faithful response. We will step forward boldly, seize this God-given moment, and invest in the future of His work in Boston. By supporting this fund, you help position the church to grow, reach, and serve in ways that will echo for generations to come.
The Kairos Fund will allow us to explore four major strategic areas towards our vision of a healthy, growing church here in the Boston area. We embrace the Spirit’s guidance as we decide how to allocate these resources.
FUND PURPOSE
Opportunistic Hiring Programs
Staffing initiatives including Youth & Family, NextGen, Singles, regional leadership succession, and multiplication or regions as they grow.
These programs are designed to meet the most pressing ministry needs while also preparing for long-term growth and leadership. Youth & Family Ministry - Reaching teens and supporting families with dedicated leadership is essential for raising up the next generation of disciples. By investing in Youth & Family staff in each region, we equip parents, train teen leaders, and create vibrant programs where young people can encounter Christ. NextGen Ministry - NextGen staffing invests in a cradle-to-graduation pathway of faith. These staff create safe and engaging environments, partner with parents, and raise up student leaders who are equipped to live out their faith beyond graduation. Singles Ministry - Singles represent one of the largest and most influential demographics in Boston. Strategic leadership here allows us to meet singles where they are, build strong communities, and reach more people in the city with the gospel. Regional Leadership Succession/Multiplication - Healthy churches don’t just grow; they prepare for the future. By strategically hiring and training regional leaders, we ensure smooth leadership transitions, stability in key ministries, and a pipeline of prepared shepherds and evangelists for years to come as the church multiplies and grows. In short, Opportunistic Hiring Programs are about planting leadership today that will bear fruit for generations. These hires aren’t just filling roles - they are multiplying impact, raising up disciples, and securing the church’s long-term mission.
Innovative Missions & Programs
Programs similar to COAL (Chance of A Lifetime), a RevivEE for Boston suburbs, and creative endeavors like an apologetics think-tank.
The gospel never changes, but the ways we share it must continually adapt to reach hearts in every generation. Programs like COAL (Chance of a Lifetime) have already brought in gifted leaders who strengthened ministries, fueled growth, and prepared future regional leaders. Building on this momentum, we envision launching renewal efforts in the Boston suburbs modeled after RevivEE and creating an apologetics think tank to equip disciples with thoughtful responses to cultural questions. By investing in innovative missions and programs, we will raise up leaders, spark renewal, and expand the church’s impact for years to come.
Physical Infrastructure
Purchasing and maintaining buildings and other physical resources that support our ministry.
We invest in the spaces and resources that make ministry possible. This includes purchasing and maintaining church buildings and facilities where disciples gather, families are served, and communities are reached. It also covers essential tools and equipment that strengthen worship, training, and outreach. By investing in infrastructure, we create a solid foundation for ministry to grow and multiply.
Communications & Media
Hiring of content creatives and an increased advertising budget for the Communications team to reach more souls in the Boston area.
We believe creativity is essential to reaching the next generation and engaging our city with the gospel. By expanding our marketing budget and strengthening our communications strategy, we can connect with more people across Boston and beyond, sharing Christ’s message with clarity and relevance. Strategic hires in content creation, media, and communications will allow us to tell inspiring stories, grow our digital presence, and amplify the gospel in ways that extend the church’s impact far past our walls.

Fund Governance
The Kairos Fund will be managed by the Boston Church elders, regional Evangelists, and Board of Directors. These three groups will be responsible for proposing, ratifying, and allocating use of the Kairos Fund. They will work and plan together in consensus to ensure that the funds will be used strategically and administered with integrity.
